Roof damage after Isaias?
Start with a free inspection.
Request a free post-storm roof inspection with written photo documentation. For homes needing temporary protection, ask about emergency dry-in and cleanup across Pensacola, Destin, Navarre, Fort Walton Beach and nearby communities.
What we do in the first week after a storm
Three things, done fast and documented. Anything structural comes after the roof is watertight and the paperwork is in your hands.
Emergency tarping & synthetic dry-in
We stop the water first. Where the deck will take fasteners, we install synthetic roofing underlayment as a proper temporary dry-in rather than draping a poly tarp over the ridge and hoping.
Debris removal & cleanup
Blown-off roofing, torn underlayment, downed gutter runs, and the mess that ends up in your yard and driveway. Hauled off, magnet-swept for nails, and left clean.
Free inspection & written documentation
A full roof inspection with detailed photographs and a written report of what we find, so you have your own record of the damage and its date.
A blue tarp is not a dry-in
Much of the emergency "tarping" done after a hurricane is a poly tarp held down with sandbags and furring strips. It flaps, it pools water, the grommets tear out, and the next squall line can take it off the roof. We do it differently where the roof allows.
Standard poly tarp
- Loose-laid and weighted, so wind gets underneath it
- Grommets and seams are the first thing to fail
- Pools water in low spots and adds weight to a damaged deck
- Often has to be re-done after the next storm band
Crestmark synthetic dry-in
- Mechanically fastened synthetic underlayment, lapped to shed water
- Walkable, tear-resistant, and far lighter than felt
- Installed as a temporary dry-in — the permanent repair is done to Florida Building Code
- Becomes a working surface for the permanent repair instead of waste
Synthetic underlayment is a temporary dry-in, not a finished roof. Every product carries a manufacturer limit on how long it can stay exposed to UV before the permanent roof covering goes on — we will tell you the exposure rating on the specific product we install on your home, in writing. Where decking is too compromised to hold fasteners safely, a tarp is the correct call and that is what we will use.
How an emergency call goes
No pressure to sign anything on the first visit.
You call, we triage
We ask what you can see from the ground and whether the house is safe to occupy. Active interior water moves you up the list.
Free inspection and documentation
We get on the roof as soon as conditions are safe, photograph everything, and write it up.
Emergency dry-in
If you want us to stop the water that day, we will. You get a written, itemized estimate for the emergency work before we start it.
You decide on the permanent repair
We give you a written itemized estimate for the full repair or replacement. You take it to your insurer. There is no obligation to use us for the permanent work.
Permanent repair and final walkthrough
Completed to Florida Building Code, permitted through your local building department, and walked with you before we call it done.
Pensacola, Destin & the Panhandle
Crestmark holds a Florida Certified Roofing Contractor license, which allows us to contract statewide. Permanent repairs are permitted through your local building department.

Questions people ask after a hurricane
Can you help with my insurance claim?
We're not able to interpret your insurance policy or negotiate your claim — that requires a licensed public adjuster. What we can do is document the damage with detailed photos and a written inspection report, which you can submit to your insurance company as part of your own claim. We also provide a written, itemized estimate for the roofing work.
How fast can you get here?
After a major storm, honestly: it depends on road access, power, and how many homes are ahead of you. We will give you a realistic window when you call rather than promising a time we can't hold. Homes with active interior water get priority.
What does emergency tarping cost?
It depends on roof size, pitch, and how much area needs to be covered. You get a written, itemized estimate before any work starts. Pricing depends on the roof, access, materials, and work required. You will receive a written, itemized estimate before any work begins.
Do I have to sign a contract to get an inspection?
No. The inspection and the written estimate are free and carry no obligation. Cancellation rights can depend on the contract, timing, and whether a declared state of emergency applies to the property. Before you sign, ask us to identify the notices and cancellation terms that apply to your specific contract. Consider getting independent legal advice if you have questions.
How do I know you're actually licensed?
Our license number is CCC1336531. You can verify it yourself at myfloridalicense.com, and we'd encourage you to verify any contractor who knocks on your door this month. Ask for the license number, the business address, and a certificate of insurance before you let anyone on your roof.
